Jules O’Brien (England 英國)
Nine-year-old Jules got her first guitar one cold London Christmas day and started writing songs. At the age of 14 she began performing her music with her band Jules and the Rubies, bumping into a budding Ed Sheeran, playing to Jamie T, and spilling a pint on the Mystery Jets along the way. Her songs explore a childhood in her beloved city, but also a journey into adulthood away from it – in Shanghai, Manchester, and now Hong Kong where she works as an advertising creative and music journalist. But — with folk finger-picking inspired by Laura Marling; rambling lyrics influenced by The Libertines; and flicks on her eyes stolen as a teen from Lily Allen — no matter where she goes, her style will always have London at its core.
