![]() Transnoodle Transnoodle formed in 2006 but didn't really get going until their singer met Seymour Stein of Sire Records and they decided to record together. Then the songs got much tighter and a whole lot more fun. With a big, bad horn section, keys and guitars, they're one of the biggest bands in Hong Kong ... don't miss this chance to see the full lineup in their prime. Forget the G (Macau)
Winter 2005, Forget the G was put together as a 3 piece band in Byron Bay, Australia. Everything started because of having a chance to perform as an opening act for the band's favorite act - The Red Paintings (Brisbane, Australia). The experience was thrilling to the band and besides, having had a taste of fear to perform in front of hundreds of strangers, frontman Eric was sure that he hasn't had enough shivers down his spine. Sooner or later, Eric transplanted the band to a new playground called Macau. Since Mid-2007, the band consists of Vocalist/Guitarist Eric, Drummer Louis & Bassist Jacky. This lineup became the core of Forget the G. The two university students, Louis & Jacky took on the duty to help Eric defragmenting his ideas & musical flashes into songs. Forget the G's music can be described as Alternative Rock heavily meshed with Post Grunge and a little bit of Experimental ideas on top. The band's biggest musical influences include: Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, The Red Paintings & Nirvana. 'We want to create something that people can feel & have a think-about, especially for those who do not see & feel the same.' Website: http://www.myspace.com/forgettheg |
![]() Violent Jokes An ethereal, feminine voice crawls its way up from the darkest range of sonic spectrums, speaking through the voluptuous lips of a Shadow. Two tall bodyguards protect the message and deliver the frame: an unusual combination of Drum&Bass loops with live instruments, electric buzzes and intriguing lyrics, glitch and distorted guitars. After not even an year of Hong Kong activity, Violent Jokes have played in all major events in town, have collaborated with local bands to a couple of compilations recently released and were invited to perform at Spring Scream 08 in Taiwan, together with famous DJs and musicians from all over Asia. More live music and their first album are already scheduled for the latter part of a really productive 2008. Stay tuned: http://www.myspace.com/violentjokeshk |
