In the fast-paced society of Hong Kong, we are often caught up in chasing the next promotion, planning for our next vacation to Japan, or deciding if we should go to the next “Instagrammable” restaurant. Though there is nothing wrong with these pursuits, they often make us overlook those in need around us, and the guardian angels who stand by them. Sharon’s heartfelt song introduces us to one such angel, her guide dog Benny. Despite being visually impaired, Sharon lives a colorful life, exploring Hong Kong, studying, and sharing her beautiful voice in the 樂也融融 band. Her song is a touching tribute to Benny, who faithfully supports her through life’s ups and downs. Released on Benny’s birthday, this track adds an extra layer of warmth and meaning to an already heartwarming story of companionship. It reminds us to appreciate what we have, to understand the lives of visually impaired people, and the importance of guide dogs.
The song’s lyrics beautifully illustrate Sharon’s bond with her guide dog, Benny. From their first verse, we immediately sense their deep connection through the lyrics and the music video. In the chorus, lines like “兩顆心，永不棄” and “你的心，我的心，融合成默契之美” vividly portray the harmony and relationship they share. As the song progresses, Sharon recounts moments from their travels to the UK. Going to a new country can be difficult, especially for someone visually impaired, but that also showed Benny’s essential role in Sharon’s life and Sharon’s appreciation for him. In the final chorus, Sharon sang, “我會記住每個片段，有了你令我再發現，世界確實仍然是美，充滿趣味”. This is a beautiful conclusion that captures Sharon’s gratitude and love for Benny, despite Sharon’s challenges, she sees the world as a beautiful and fascinating place thanks to Benny’s companionship. This heartfelt song not only celebrates their past adventures, but also promises love and cherished memories long after Benny’s retirement. I think this is super heartwarming, and with the music video showcasing the moments of Sharon and Benny together, it definitely is enough to make a grown man cry.
樂也融融 is the band that recorded the various instruments for this song. They consist of people with different backgrounds and occupations, and some members are physically disabled. However, they share two things in common: their love of music and their amazing skills. Upon learning that some members of the band are disabled, I became even more impressed by the whole project. I could feel the passion that the entire crew had during the making of this song, and it is simply wonderful. After some research, I found out that 樂也融融 has performed on various big stages and has even played with megastar Eason Chan! Overall, this is a wonderful song performed by both 樂也融融 and Sharon. It might sound like a regular pop song, but if you dig deeper and understand the story and meaning behind it, it truly hits differently!
