Chris B introduced this rock band as the “sandwich” between two metal bands. There was less talking between songs from this band, which was welcomed. Apparently, they have their own sound tech, which makes the fact that the vocals sounded thin on the first couple of tracks a bit weird.

Their third song was a straight-up rock ’n’ roll number with a catchy bass riff. Wait, was that JAZZ? Still, the metal crowd stayed strong. The vocalist was super confident and sounded solid from this point onwards.

Emo-sounding fourth song with a great atmospheric build-up.

The new song, with a Spanish guitar intro that went into a metal song, was so tight, tight — I was blown away.

I think “Shut the Fuck Up” has to be my favourite song title ever.

The variety of musical styles Monster Planet displays is quite staggering.

Amazingly, I think they stole the show at a metal night. I’m definitely checking these guys out again.
