Mocking Bullet is a Hong Kong Cantopop alternative rock band created by creative artists. Comprising the multi-talented Eric Chu on vocals, song writing and guitar, Jeffrey Mok on bass guitar & backing vocals and Dave Wong on drums.
Soft rock influences “沼氣星空”. They endeavour to combine the influence of the literal meaning of marsh gas and starry sky, splicing them into this punky rock track with distinctive guitar riffs. The music is wryly reminiscent of 80s Canto-Pop’s vibe. We are talking Dave Wong, Beyond and Jacky Chan.
The reverb guitar rips over the bass guitar as Chau explores one man’s journey through the sweet and honeyed depth of hallucinations. This allows him to explore dark creases – and shine a light at a seemingly endless path. Also, he is sensitive to heroin, a painkiller for everyday troubles. The music video adapts this as a creative twist using multiple smoky scenes.
The high-pitched backing vocals from non-members; Venice, Stella and Miu, chime in for a catchy and psychedelic chorus. This creates a compelling contrast with the verses.
