As part of our 22nd anniversary celebrations, it was fantastic to return to Terrible Baby at Eaton Hong Kong for a cosy and comfortable sit-down show. Huge thanks to James and the TB team! Special shoutout to Veronika for her sound assistance.

The Moon Five delivered an all-instrumental performance that flowed confidently across genres — from reggae grooves to progressive rock twists. Led by Bernard on guitar, with Stanley, Him Him, Kevin, and Ben completing the line-up, the band showed solid musicianship and an adventurous spirit. Bernard’s friendly introductions — including some charming talk about cats — gave the set a personal touch. There were moments when things got a bit too mellow (those comfy seats didn’t help!), but just when you thought they’d settled into hotel-band territory, they pulled out something unexpectedly brilliant. A gentle reminder to Bernard that, in his excitement to perform with a capo, he needs to be careful with his tuning.
Overall, this band can go from laid-back lounge to full-on epic in a heartbeat. Nice.

Ewan Ho & The Movement returned to The Underground stage for Dual Orbit with their signature blend of offbeat charm and loose energy. Fronted by Ewan on rhythm guitar and vocals, alongside Marco (electric guitar), Adoss (bass), and Big Eye (drums), the band once again leaned into their “city folk” roots, with a rustic charm and subtle influences from folk traditions of the Chao Shan region (Chaozhou/Shantou).
Familiar favourites like “Love is Love,” “向前衝吧,” “聽阿嬤唱歌,” and “漢記書店” made a welcome reappearance, creating an easy connection with the audience through simple melodies, singalongs, and open emotion.
It was also interesting to hear a handful of songs not previously performed on the Underground stage, including “Oh Music,” “一些感覺,” and “折磨你的是恐懼.”
As always, it wasn’t just about the songs. Ewan’s natural patter with the crowd, in both English and Cantonese, brought extra smiles and a feel-good atmosphere to the room. He even surprised a newcomer to Hong Kong by casually speaking fluent German—yet another unexpected moment at a Movement gig.
