WHITE PINK

Live review from Death Revisited:

1. 上唐八
2. 30
3. 低人一等
4. 關你撚事
5. 漫無目的地
6. 原地踏步?

An 8 member whose “bio” is basically an advert for interior decoration, I had no idea what to expect before their set started. The band comprised 2 vocalists, a DJ, a noise artist, 2 guitarists, bassist and drummer.

The music was almost entirely of rap, set against metal accompaniment, with extensive use of pre-recorded tracks and the noise artist providing additional effects, with all the “growling” vocal being pre-recorded. Most of the songs were about their personal experience and aspirations, which make them quite relatable to the audience. Considering the size of the stage and the number of band members, it was a miracle that they could all fit on the stage, but that they managed quite well (even though the bass player was mostly hidden throughout the set) and the 2 vocalist made very good use of the stage, being quite active and bouncy and managed very successfully engage the audience. I wonder how the full band would do on a bigger stage. One thing that particularly caught my attention was that despite the band’s extensive use of pre-recorded tracks, the drummer did not require the use of clicks, which I thought was pretty impressive.

An enjoyable set, tightly delivered, but again, not “death metal”.

“Band informed us that they did not use pre-recorded tracks for screamed vocals” (Added 29th July 2025)
