Kick off 2026 with all the right vibes! The Underground presents the ultimate two-night celebration of original music in Hong Kong. We’re back at The Fringe Club on 23 and 24 January: don’t miss the opportunity to experience some of the city’s most exciting live acts in this atmospheric venue that’s steeped in history.
Two stages, 22 bands, 2 nights: 1 unforgettable showcase of Hong Kong music.
Acts confirmed so far include Ashia 廖嘉敏, Houseplants, Murphy & The Lawyers, norio, Qi, Sapphire Yoshi, What They Do, Whitt’s End, and many more to be revealed soon. With genres ranging from bedroom pop and video game jazz to post-punk and hard rock, it’s the perfect window to the sounds currently getting the city grooving.
We’re also bringing back the popular chillout area, featuring a great choice of food and drink vendors.

Ashia (廖嘉敏)
Ashia started her singing journey since college but it was put on hold for some years due to her studies in Clinical Psychology.
She later determined to resume her dream of music and released her first EP
She also started her performance in musicals since 2019. She was one of the actors in “LaMusical Concert 2019” and playing a main role in “Love for Granted 2023”. Currently she is performing in Hong Kong’s first long- run musical “Our Journal of Spring Time” as the main cast ‘Jessica’.
Ashia (廖嘉敏)喜愛唱歌、演戲，也喜愛寫作。曾於大學時期簽約為歌手，推出了第一張個人EP
唱歌以外，Ashia亦先後參演多部微電影，《道歉麪包店》、《黃格仔》等 , 今年更憑《夢魘洄游》榮獲第⼗⼀屆微電影創加作最佳女主⾓⾦奬。2019 年開始，Ashia 亦投⾝⾳樂劇，先後參與《林⼦祥LaMusical 2019 演唱會》及 《⼩男⼈週記》, 更在香港⾸首部長壽⾳樂劇《我們的青春⽇誌》𥚃擔任主⾓ ‘Jessica’ 演繹。
Murphy and the Lawyers

Blending syncopated afrobeats with reggae-dancehall and a touch of pop, Murphy and The lawyers are known for creating infectious rhythms and catchy melodies that get people moving. The band constantly pushes genre boundaries to carve out their own distinctive space in the music world. Whether they are performing live or studio recording, Murphy and The lawyers never fails to deliver memorable, groovy and highly entertaining music that speaks to a wide range of audiences.
Goldsmiths
Indie folk with classical and jazz influences.
The Goldsmiths are an indie folk band that blends folk’s raw, earthy roots with the elegance of classical music and the whimsical charm of jazz. Their music explores themes of grief, hope, and love, brought to life through poetic, heartfelt lyrics. Each song feels like a journey, bittersweet, dreamy, and full of wonder. With their unique sound, “The Goldsmiths” create music that feels like a warm lantern, softly lighting the way home through life’s twilight moments.
Mr Koo
The sound of Mr Koo blends surf rock, funk and jazz with a psychedelic kick, combined with raw soulful vocals.
Mr Koo is an indie rock band formed by singer / songwriter Ollie Rodgers. The group reinterpret surf rock through their own lens, blending blue notes and dreamy chords with a psychedelic kick. The music of Mr Koo, originally inspired by hot sandy beaches, explores aspects of life in the modern world, touching on themes of woozy love and deep layers of nostalgia. The band take influence from soul, blues, jazz and more recently Southeast Asian funk, creating a nostalgic sound of summer.
Now a mainstay in the Hong Kong indie scene, their psychedelic instrumental improvisations combined with raw, soulful vocals continue to captivate audiences.
Qi
Fun fact: Qi played their first headline show in June 2019, on the same bill as Mr Koo’s Hong Kong debut. While one band went to the local fame, the other burned bright, hard, fast and … out. (Better than fading away, right?)
Released early in 2020, Qi’s debut album Solstice was praised by The Underground as a “fast-paced glam-rock sexual romp … catchy, full of musical creativity, live energy, sex and fun.”
Music zine press : release chimed in: “Qi look like they intend to go global … Ear worms galore. Qi’s choicest charms are stadium fodder.”
After playing the record live more than a dozen times in less than a year, they followed it up in early 2021 with the tighter, slicker Racing For Our Lives EP, which The Underground called described as “confident, hook-heavy, 90s-inflected rock … music that is ideally meant to be played live, loud and among friends.”
Then suddenly a few months later, amid the global pandemic meltdown, they were gone. Traceless.
There have been hints of a return: a surprise posthumous Valentine’s Day EP, The Four Seasons of Forever Guy, in 2024. A belated “farewell” single, “動起來” (Dong Qi Lai)” in late 2025…
Now, Qi are reuniting, for one night only. Back where they started. More than six years later. Playing after Mr Koo. Again … at The Underground’s Winter Festival 2026.
Yusobeit

Yusobeit 是一支香港獨立搖滾樂隊，成立於2017年，前身為樂隊 Queenshead。樂隊由四名成員組成，分別為主唱 Elvis（昵稱 Yu）、吉他手 Kit、貝斯手 Andy 及鼓手 MC。樂隊在2021年推出首張專輯《Home Stranding》正式出道。 Yusobeit 以融合粵語旋律與多國多元音樂風格而聞名，打造獨特的搖滾、另類及實驗音樂融合風格。 樂隊的音樂風格涵蓋工業金屬、尖叫金屬和旋律搖滾等元素，以低沉的人聲、沉重的節奏和複雜的電子編程為特色。 憑藉豐富的原創作品，包括《秋分》、《相擁萬歲》及《不羨仙》等代表作，未來Yusobeit 不斷延展音樂邊界。
