Featuring some of Hong Kong’s leading folk musicians, Black Velvet Collective (BVC) create songs and soundscapes that capture, update but reflect English, Celtic and Canadian traditional/folk music.
Built around the core of Mark Rawson and Dan Margulies, BVC enlist the aid of a collection of the finest folk musicians to bring songs to life. Songs of reflection, songs of joy and songs to bring a smile to one’s heart and a tapping of one’s feet.
BVC have actively performed in the growing folk scene here in Hong Kong including show stopping sets at the What the Folk Festival 21, 22 and 23 Lamma Folk 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 RTHK The Works and Radio 3 performances, Irish Festival 2024 and 2025 and of course 2023 Clockenflap.
Sunset Peak our first album released in 2022 is available on all streaming services with the EP Something Different 2023 and a host of ‘singles’ to support various NGO activities.
